ANSWERS? WE'VE GOT THEM.
Here are the questions we are most frequently being asked:
How much power will the Solar Stik™ produce?
“On average, with a sunny day and proper solar panel orientation (2-3 adjustments per day), you can expect to harness about 80 Amp-hours (1 Kilowatt-hour) per day with solar alone. If the Solar Stik™ Breeze is employed the output will be higher. There are exceptions to this because there are longer and shorter days during the calendar year. For example, during the summer months, one may see as much as 100 Amp-hours (1.2 Kilowatt-hours) per day depending on operating conditions and geographic location.”
What is the practical life of the Solar Stik 100?
With good care the product should function for many years. For practical purposes we say 25 years.
How can I determine the size needed for the solar power supply?
Send us your email address, and we will send you a questionnaire that will enable us to precisely size and custom design your system.
Where can I find more information about solar power?
Go to the Solar Stik web site - There is information about Solar Stik and solar power in general.
What are the advantages of DC appliances?
We are in the early stages of a big change where DC will become very prominent again. Specifically, solar panels have a DC output that charges a battery or batteries that have a DC output. An inverter is required to convert the DC back to AC for appliances such as televisions and refrigerators. There is an energy loss in these DC:AC conversions of about 10-20%. Plus the inverter becomes a bottleneck for available power limited by its own wattage rating. Without the wattage limitations of the inverter auxiliary batteries can be connected in parallel to greatly increase the power output of your system.
Are there tax credits or rebates available?
Yes. “The multiple-year extension of the Investment Tax Credit is good for your wallet, job creation and the environment,” says Bill Finch, founder of Alternative Energy, Inc. "The 30% tax credit applies to residential and commercial solar installation AND portable solar generators used for home and business.”
